Conference Training Workshops
Attendees at the enABLED in Emergencies Conference have the option to participate in workshops before and after the conference offered by two of our training partners for this event. Space is limited to the first 70 attendees for each workshop, so please book now. Attendees are eligible to attend both workshops if they desire. Coffee will be served in the morning at the workshops, but breakfast and lunch are the responsibility of the attendee. All workshops run from 8am - 5pm at the Hilton Philadelphia Airport.

About this Workshop:
After Hurricane Katrina, emergency managers and people with special needs have begun to understand the scope of the challenges facing both groups during major incidents. The good news is they're starting to collaborate to bridge the gaps that exist. This program will focus on how collaboration can be achieved and the results that can be derived from these efforts.

About this Workshop:
The purpose of the “Emergency Planning for Special Needs Communities” course is to address the need to incorporate special needs considerations into the development of emergency plans. The course’s goal is to utilize a strategic multi-disciplinary universal planning approach to provide information for and encourage partnerships between emergency personnel and special needs organizations with the resources necessary to save more lives during a disaster. This approach will emphasize the role of emergency management and provide examples of best practices, lessons identified, tools, resources, and other support aids.
